The reason some nail guns won't fire to last nails. It is because of anti-dry fire features. It prevents you from firing when empty. Because it can be marking the surface when. Dry fired. These staplers are used for cabinet making and finish carpentry.

I just used my 110v 80 amp small welder. There are obviously jobs too big for it, but it handles small jobs perfectly. I had to weld a spring for a lawnmower which saved me $58. It paid for the welder right there but be careful you are fooled by welds for bigger items. You don’t want to think it’s welded but actually it just hid the crack.

Ford made and sold a “gazillion” of them and the people that bought them didn’t take them home and park them in the garage. They helped feed America with them. Same with the Farmall A, the John Deere L, the Massey Harris Pony, and the Allis Chalmers B and C models.🙄 I own two 8 Ns, one is a 1949 that we used after restoration from 1966 to 2003. We farmed 26 acres of soybeans from 1968 to 1980 with it not to mention using a heavy International two bottom plow and hundreds of hours pulling a model 12 Bush Hog cutter with it. It sat unused from 2003 to 2021 when I was finally able to rebuild the engine after retiring. It still runs strong. Anyone that claims that an 8N can’t do hard work probably never even owned one or is the type of person that can destroy an anvil with a rubber hammer.

I have Makita cordless tools and love them and would love to expand my kit but it is so expensive to do. A few weeks ago i needed to cut a tree down and bought the Bauer pole chainsaw and ended up loving it. From there things went down hill in a good way i bought the Bauer weed eater, rotohammer, grinder, impact driver, corded shop vac 6 gal, corded sawzall and have future plans to buy some other tools. I also bought the adapters so i can use my Makita batteries so i dont need batteries anytime soon.

The only Bauer tool I bought so far is the brushless angle grinder and I gotta say, I don't like it. It drains batteries fast and doesn't continue spinning long enough to dissipate the revs, so when I hand tighten grinding wheels, the lockup causes the disc and retainer nut to spin themselves off and go for a quick run. I do love the handle though, it has the spanner wrench inside which is super convenient, I just hate having to use it to put wheels on.

I'm a dewalt person, but they are pricey, and I, too, bought some bauer cordless power tools. The router and miter saw is awesome. Unfortunately, their 18 gauge brad nailer kept failing me. It would work for a but on a project and stop working or it would jam constantly, so I was sad I finally returned it and they refunded my money back, not the full refund but half. I still would recommend Bauer also. I bought my son his first cordless tool, which is bauer. I'm going to purchase the update ryobi 18g brad nailer because I got frustrated with Bauer. Hopefully, they will fix jamming issues and why it stopped working all of sudden and last straw was when a object almost hit my wife from the bauer nailer

  • @ccramit

Just had to do this recently. Damn 2019 Civic and their rims. Had 3 tires that developed leaks at the rim. Had to fill them up once every two weeks. But in the winter, it was like once every 3 days because of the cold temps. Didn't have the tools to do it myself so I brought it to my Uncle's garage. Once they sealed the rims, no more slow leak. Treads were still good so it saved me a few hundred bucks on new tires for another year or two.

There is a few mods for these that are worth trying for your usage. Swap your long and short links for the bucket around that makes the bucket teeth out further for deeper digging easier, then there is a post here about making a set of tires and wheels for the digging end that fold up, makes towing better and dont have to keep moving the wheels front to back. I just made a tube that fits over the center tooth of the bucket and at the right angle fits around a 1-7/8 ball to tow it from the bucket end with my zero turn mower ball just move the outriggers all the way in and a good thumb is indespensible but beware of the Mytee one it is not designed very well at all.

I picked up a new YesWeld MTS-160 machine on sale for under $200 in 2023. I had first looked at almost every machine in this size and category before settling on it. It can only do up to 1/8" at 120A (with 110/120v AC), and is maybe more suitable for 14 gauge, or if the metal is already good and hot. And it will do 3/16" at up to 160A (but using the 220v feature which is why I got it). I don't know that I'd only want a 110/120v machine because of it's limits to 1/8" and thinner. They are pretty limiting if you regularly do 1/8", especially in colder months where you often need the headroom of extra amps, say ~130. I run .030 wire in it almost exclusively though and admittedly weld 14g to 1/8" about 90% the time but that other 10% is always important. And for that I have an Everlast MTS 275 which is my big dog. What a lot of people quickly find out with small box machines is when doing joints and layers, even when both sides are 1/8" you'll find you need some extra amps for increased penetration. So for me that's why I found a 110v small box that can still bring the heat when needed with some 220v.

As an operator myself it would be a lot easier on yourself and the machine to take smaller bites with the bucket, in other words, take a few inches starting at the top and work your way down. Kind of like pealing an onion, one layer at a time. Also I'm not sure if it really matters much but it looks like the teeth on the bucket are on backwards?
